| biography:
| Broadcasting administrator, born in Taree, New South Wales, SE Australia. He was a member of the Australian delegation to the League of Nations in 1939, and was appointed to the Australian Broadcasting Commission in 1940. After Prime Minister Curtin affirmed the independence of the Australian Broadcasting Company, Boyer accepted the chairmanship in 1945. The ABC Lectures were renamed the Boyer Lectures in his honour after his death. |
