| British veterinarian. He was principal of the Royal Veterinary College, London (1927–37), and responsible for the ‘Farthing Fund’ to raise £250 000 for the new College building, opened by George VI in 1937. He is said to have performed Hobday's operation (stripping part of the larynx as a remedy for laryngeal hemiplegia) on more than 4000 horses. |
