| Artist, born in Stourbridge, West Midlands, C England, UK. He studied in London, and became a master of all the engraving processes. Head of the Engraving School at the Royal College of Art, he spent a great deal of time interpreting other masters, in particular Turner's ‘Liber Studiorum’. He was president of the Royal Society of Painter Etchers (1910–39). |
