| Pathologist, born in Leamington Hastings, Warwickshire, C England, UK. He studied at Oxford and St Mary's Hospital, London, and specialized in the new science of forensic pathology. He made his name at the trial of Crippen (1910), and was appointed pathologist to the Home Office. As expert witness for the Crown, he was involved in many notable murder trials. |
