| biography:
| Landscape painter, born in Mount Duneed, Victoria, SE Australia. He studied at the National Gallery School in Melbourne, and helped establish the ‘Heidelberg school’ of painting. His works include ‘Still Glides the Stream’ (c.1890, New South Wales), and ‘The Purple Noon's Transparent Might’ (c.1896, Victoria). In 1898 he went to London, and exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1900. |
