| Footballer and manager, born in Dagenham, E Greater London, UK. He played with Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur, and as manager took Ipswich Town to the 2nd and 1st Division championships in successive years (1961, 1962). As manager of England (1963–74), his team won the World Cup in 1966. |
