| Physicist, born in New York City, New York, USA. He taught and performed research at several American institutions before becoming a professor at Harvard (1945–75). His renormalization technique, a mathematical revision of quantum electrodynamics, earned him a share of the 1965 Nobel Prize for Physics. He joined the University of California, Los Angeles (1975) and continued to make advances in electromagnetic theory and theoretical particle physics. |
