| Graphic artist, born in Canton, China. He and his family emigrated to St Paul, MN (1927), and he studied at the St Paul School of Art (1936–40), the Art Students League (1941–2), and at the Hans Hofmann School, New York (1941–2). He taught at many schools and is known for his expressive and abstract colour woodcuts, such as Classical Horse and Rider (1953). |
