| Musician, born in Providence, Rhode Island, USA. Influenced by his father's record collection, he played the harmonica professionally at fourteen, and took up the tenor saxophone two years later. He made his record debut in 1977, later forming his own quintet. He never learned to sight-read, and plays a Selmer saxophone that is older than he is. |
