| Painter, born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. The daughter of James Peale, she lived in Philadelphia, moved to Baltimore, MD (1831) and then to Washington, DC (1840–3) where she was a portrait painter. She relocated to St Louis, MO (1847–77), returned finally to Philadelphia (1877–85), and painted still-life pictures. |
