| Economist, born in New Haven, Connecticut, USA. He studied at Yale (1960) and Harvard (PhD 1965), and taught at Harvard before joining the faculty of the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, where he was a professor of economics. He published extensively in the economics of human resources and in Marxist economic theory. His books include Beyond the Waste Land: A Democratic Alternative to Economic Decline (1983). |
