| Chemist, born in Kobe, C Japan. He studied at Kyoto University (1967 PhD), later joining the Research Center for Materials Science at Nagoya University. He shared the 2001 Nobel Prize for Chemistry for work on chirally catalysed hydrogenation reactions. |
