In his historical works, such as the Compendiosa historia hispánica, he imitated Alfonso de Cartagena. He addressed his monarch in the Vergel del los príncipes, ‘en que fabla de honestos deportes e virtuosos exercicios en que los ínclitos reyes se deuen exercitar’, these occupations consisting of arms, hunting, and music. His Speculum vitae humanae (Rome, 1468) was translated as Espejo de la vida humana (Zaragoza, 1491). His important work on political theory was Suma de la política , edited by J Beneyto (1944). |
