| Economics educator, born in Krefeld, Germany. He studied at the University of Geneva, then went to the USA (1967) and earned a PhD at the University of Chicago (1971). In 1977 he became Ford International Professor of Economics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His several works on economics include Dollars, Debts and Deficits (1987). |
