| Corporate executive, born in Los Angeles, California, USA. He co-founded Electro-Dynamics Corp with Charles B Thornton (1953) and soon bought Litton Industries, serving as president (1961–72). His financial acumen in acquiring high-technology companies turned Litton into one of the first modern international conglomerates. He was director of the Office of Management and Budget (1972–5) and after 1975 headed Addressograph-Multigraph Corp. |
