| Painter, born in Florence, NC Italy, the son of a tailor (It sarto ‘tailor’). He was engaged by the Servites to paint a series of frescoes for their Church of the Annunciation (1509–14), and a second series was next painted for the Recollets. Many of his most celebrated pictures are in Florence. |
