| Editor, born in Hungary. She emigrated to the USA with her rabbi husband in 1869, and became editor of American Jewess (1895–9), a newspaper for women. A moderate liberal, she was sympathetic to Zionism and believed in synagogal rights for women, along with home and marriage. Her 1880 essay, ‘The Pioneers’, described a St Louis women's literary society. |
