| biography:
| Poet and playwright, born in Pinsac, SWC France. Excluded from the Surrealist movement as a result of his poems Connaissance de la mort (1927), with Artaud he co-founded the short-lived Théâtre Alfred Jarry. He displayed a grating humour in his plays, of which the masterpiece remains Victor ou les Enfants au pouvoir (1928), which opened the way to the new theatre. |
