| Italian politician, born in Milan, Lombardy, N Italy. He was jailed by the Fascists in 1937 and later took part in the resistance, and was president of the CLNAI (Liberation Committee of N Italy). After the war ended, he was one of the leading members of the PSI (Socialist Party) and was twice industry minister (1946, 1947). |
