| Writer, born in Montechiaro d'Asti, Piedmont, N Italy. He was a follower of Garibaldi, and took part in the scapigliatura literary movement. His works include the autobiographical novel Cesare Mariani (1876), the novel Entusiasmi (1881) set during the Five Days of Milan insurrection, and the short stories Castello e cascina (1878) and Candaule (1879). |
