| Composer and writer, born in Leamington, Warwickshire, C England, UK. He studied with Herbert Howells, and was a BBC music producer in London (1951–80). His works included 11 symphonies, 14 string quartets, concertos for piano and flute, as well as a great deal of chamber music, and published studies of Nielsen and Bruckner. |
