| Illustrator, born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. Considered the forerunner of modern expressive illustrators, he studied at Carnegie Technical College in Pittsburgh, and in Italy (1949–51), and worked as an illustrator for such periodicals as Fortune, Esquire, Life, and Playboy. He influenced many commercial artists, and is known for his innovative use of multiple images, as in ‘Jason Robards Rehearsing Huey’ (1982). |
