| Psychologist, born in Belchertown, Massachusetts, USA. Influenced at Harvard by William James, he did graduate work in psychology at Columbia University, where he taught during 1903–42. He conducted psychophysical experiments focused on stimulus-response and added the term drive to psychology's vocabulary. His publications include Dynamic Psychology (1918), Experimental Psychology (1938), and Dynamics of Behavior (1958). |
