| Electrical engineer, born in Burlington, Iowa, USA. He founded Fairchild Semiconductor Corp (1957) and jointly invented the integrated circuit with Jack Kilby. He co-founded Intel Corp (1968), which developed the silicon-gate MOS process that allows several thousand transistors to be integrated on a single silicon chip. |
