| Photographer, born in New York City, USA. He studied painting and sculpture at the Pratt Institute in New York, after which he concentrated on photography, mounting his first exhibition in 1976. A major retrospective of his often controversial work was presented by the Whitney Museum of American Art in 1988. He died of AIDS the following year. |
