| biography:
| Film and television actor, born in Detroit, Michigan, USA. He attended Black-Foxe Military Institute, then won an acting contract with Twentieth Century–Fox. He played juvenile leads in a succession of war, Western, and adventure films, such as The True Story of Jesse James (1957). His greatest popularity has been in television series, where his boyish romantic appeal, suave manner, and light humour were seen in It Takes A Thief (1965–9), Switch (1975–7), and Hart to Hart (1979–84), in which he co-starred with his wife, Natalie Wood. In 1999 he appeared in the film Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me. |
