| biography:
| Advertising executive, born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA. She joined the New York advertising agency BBDO in 1930 as a copywriter, working on the General Mills and Campbell's Soup accounts among others. She organized innovative market research panels that were prototypes of focus groups. As BBDO vice-president (from 1946) and board member (from mid-1950s), she became one of the most influential women in advertising. |
