| biography:
| ‘Land artist’, born in Bristol, SW England, UK. He takes country walks, which he considers works of art in themselves, sometimes marking a place with a simple ‘sculpture’, such as a circle of stones, or a shallow trench, and afterwards exhibits photographs, maps, and texts. He held his first one-man show in Dusseldorf, 1968, leading to many more worldwide. He won the 1989 Turner Prize. |
