| biography:
| Ruler of Imola and Forlì. The illegitimate daughter of Galeazzo Maria Sforza, she married Girolamo Riario, ruler of Imola and Forlì in 1477. After his death in 1488 she was besieged by rebels but resisted until she was recognized as ruler of Forlì. She married Giovanni de' Medici in 1496 and they had a son, the future condottiere Giovanni delle Bande Nere. She was removed from power by Pope Alexander VI in 1499 and forced to give up her territories to Cesare Borgia. |
