| Tennis player, the first great tennis champion, born in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, SWC England, UK. He started playing at Cheltenham School with his twin brother Ernest Renshaw (1861–99), who also became a champion. Willie was Wimbledon singles champion in 1881–6 and 1899, and won the All-England doubles title with Ernest in 1884–6 and 1888–9. |
