| Tenor, born in Berlin, Germany. He studied at Berlin and made his debut in Braunschweig in 1965. He spent a period with the Düsseldorf Opera (1967–71), and went on to perform leading Wagnerian roles in Salzburg, Vienna, and the New York Metropolitan Opera. |
