| Economist, born in Wrocław, SW Poland (formerly Breslau, Prussia). He studied mathematics at Frankfurt-am-Main, and later worked at universities in California, Berlin, and Bielefeld before moving to the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms University in Bonn in 1984. He shared the Nobel Prize for Economics in 1994 for his contribution to the analysis of equilibria in the theory of non-co-operative games. |
