| biography:
| German politician, born in Bayreuth, SEC Germany. Co-founder of the Burschenschaft, he was elected president of the Frankfurter Nationalversammlung in 1848. He proposed as a solution to the Deutsche Frage a closer or wider Dual Confederation (Doppelbund). When this failed he promoted a Kleindeutsch solution. He resigned in 1849. |
