| Playwright, director, and producer, born in London, UK. He appeared in several stage comedies and farces in the 1950s and 1960s. Best known as an author and director, his own first play, a farce, One for the Pot, appeared in 1961, and was followed by many others, including Run for Your Wife (1983), Wife Begins at Forty (1986), Funny Money (1996), and Run for Your Wife 2: Caught In the Net (2001). In 1983 he created the Theatre of Comedy, based at the Shaftesbury Theatre, London. In 1992 he purchased The Playhouse in London. |
