| Sculptor, born in Waterloo, New York, USA. He studied in Florence and Rome, and lived in Rome from 1885. His statues include ‘Ruth’ (Metropolitan Museum) and ‘Lincoln’ (Philadelphia). He is best known for his ‘Columbus Doors’ of the Capitol in Washington, DC, and the heroic figure of ‘Michigan’ on the Detroit monument. |
