| Poet writing in the Galician language, born in Cambados, Pontevedra, NW Spain. A contributor to an important review, Nos, and collaborator with the Seminario de Estudos Galegos, he was a writer of great versatility and accomplishment, producing sea poetry in Vento mareiro (1915), narrative verse in A noite estrelecida (1926), and love poetry of great expressive power and formal economy in A rosa de cen follas (1927). His contributions to oral poetry are gathered in Antífona de cantiga (1951). He wrote the plays A man de Santiña and, with Antón Villar Ponte, the historical-legendary O mariscal (1926). |
