| biography:
| British cricketer. She studied at Dartford College of Physical Education and became a PE teacher. A member of the Women's England Cricket Team (1960–83, captain 1966–77), she captained England to victory in the first women's World Cup in 1973. In the 1976 Test against Australia, she scored 179, a world record for England and the world's fourth highest score by a woman in tests. She also played for the England women's hockey team as goalkeeper in 1964. She later became a journalist and public relations consultant. |
