| Seleucid king of Syria, the son and successor of Antiochus I. He married Berenice, the daughter of Ptolemy II, exiling his first wife, Laodice, and her children. On his death there followed a struggle between the rival queens. Berenice and her son were murdered, and the succession went to Laodice's son, Seleucus II (reigned 246–226 BC). |
