| Indian nobleman and cricketer, born in Sarodar, India. After studying at Cambridge University, he became a star batsman (with C B Fry) for Sussex and England, revolutionizing techniques. He succeeded as Jam Sahib of Nawanagar in 1906, becoming maharaja in 1918, and did much to modernize and improve conditions in his home state. |
