| Humanist, born in Terranova, Tuscany, NW Italy. He worked as a writer for Boniface IX, then was apostolic secretary to antipope John XXIII. His works in Latin include Historiae florentini populi (1454–9), philosophical treatises (Contra hypocritas, 1447–8), and the Liber facetiarum (1438–52), a collection of anedoctes on the clergy's everyday life, as well as numerous letters. |
