| biography:
| Writer, born in Mozhaisk, W Russia. He wrote novels and short stories, including (trans titles) The Naked Year (1922) and The Volga Flows Down to the Caspian Sea (1930). An anti-Communist, he fell into disfavour with the authorities, and he and his works disappeared. It later came to light that he was arrested in 1937, and died shortly afterwards. |
