| Poet, born in Maastricht, S Netherlands. A civil servant, he wrote impressionistic poems early in his career, but developed a more expressionistic style later in his short poems. He also wrote children's books and some prose. In 1956 he received the Constantijn Huygensprijs and in 1959 the P C Hooft-prijs. |
