| Jesuit priest, born in Néronde, C France. He studied law and philosophy in Paris, Bouges, and Milan, became a Jesuit (1589), and later was elected provincial of the Society of Jesus. Appointed confessor to Henri IV and Louis XIII until 1617, he was involved in a number of intrigues. His published works include Institution Catholique and Genève plagiaire. |
