| Automobile executive, born in Bourneville, Ohio, USA. He had a long career at the Ford Motor Co (1953–85), where he headed truck operations, the Philco division, and international operations (he introduced the Ford Fiesta to Europe) before becoming president (1978–80). He retired as chief executive officer and chairman. He was later senior managing director at Shearson Lehman Brothers, New York (1985). |
