| British journalist and broadcaster. Educated at Leicester University, he spent a year with a local newspaper in Wolverhampton, then joined the BBC, working in both radio and television. He became known for his contributions to such programmes as BBC2's The Money Programme (1979–81) and Newsnight (1980–2), and Radio 4's Today (from 1981). |
