| Tyrant of Corinth, successor to his father, Cypselus. Under him, Corinth's power and position in the Greek world developed further, and he cultivated extensive links with foreign rulers. Later tradition remembered him as an example of a repressive tyrant, yet he was also included in the canon of the Seven Wise Men of Greece. The tyranny came to an end soon after his death. |
