| biography:
| Catalan sculptor, born in the Sarrià Quarter of Barcelona, NE Spain. He studied at the Escola de Belles Arts in Barcelona and later taught anatomy for artistic purposes there. As part of the Catalan University studies programme he taught the history of the country's sculpture. He was awarded the silver medal at the Universal Exhibition in Paris in 1900. Among his works are the ‘Catalunya’ group at the base of monument to Christopher Columbus in Barcelona, and three ‘Reliefs’ for the front of the Palace of Justice, symbolizing the grant of the Recognoverunt proceres privilege. |
