| Physician and writer on the integration of psychology and Christianity, born in Geneva, SW Switzerland. He spent his whole professional life as a general practitioner in private practice in Geneva. Discovering religious faith through contact with the Oxford Group in 1932, he realized the need to treat his patients as whole human beings. A Doctor's Casebook in the Light of the Bible (1954) and The Meaning of Persons (1957) were followed by more than a dozen other best-selling books, including The Strong and the Weak (1963) and Learning to Grow Old (1972). |
