| Writer, lecturer, and psychotherapist, born in New York City, New York, USA. His prodigious outpouring of poetry, fiction, city planning, social criticism, and gestalt therapy consistently articulated a vision of humanistic anarchism that made him the ‘father figure of the New Left’. His best-selling Growing Up Absurd (1960) defended dropping out of school, an institution he found repressive of individuality. |
