| Psychologist, born in Saarlouis, Germany. He studied in Germany, went to the USA (1968), and taught at West Virginia University and at Pennsylvania State University (1974). His research in life-span developmental psychology and gerontology produced important books and papers, including Life-Span Development and Behavior: Advances in Research and Theory (3 vols, 1978–80), edited with O G Brim. |
